- The Handbook of AI (Barr and Feigenbaum, 1982) contains a summary of
the different search strategies.
- Winston (1984) gives a thorough account with precise algorithmic
descriptions of search methods. It goes on to analyze game playing in
some detail. This would form a good complement to the approach taken in
the present book, at a more advanced level.
- Charniak and McDermott (1985) relate search to parsing -- in
particular, game playing and problem solving -- and give a search program in
LISP.
- Rich (1983) has a detailed and fairly formal account,
with many diagrammatic examples and careful discussion, of different
search strategies.
