For example, if you type

a startup message will be displayed ending with the pop11 prompt, a colon,

You can then give many different commands, including, for example:

    : help pop11
    : teach lists
    : teach primer

Each of these will start the poplog editor and read in a document. Instead
you can give program commands, e.g.

    : 99 * 88 =>

which should print out

    ** 8712

For a more substantial introduction to pop-11 there is an online primer, in
different formats:

    : teach primer

will let you read through and run examples in the Pop-11 primer.

you are new to pop11 be warned that all published books on pop11 are out
of date. For expert programmers, there is a more up to date 'primer'
